OMK to supply LD pipes for Central Asia-China gas pipeline project

Russian pipe producing company United Metallurgical Company (OMK) has stated that in the first half of 2013 it will supply 125,000 mt of large diameter (LD) steel pipes for the construction of the Central Asia-China gas pipeline project. The pipes will have diameter of 1,219 mm with wall thickness of 17.5 mm, of strength grade L555M/X80M according to API 5L standard (PSL 2), and will be produced at the Vyksa Steel Works from its own flat steel material produced at metallurgical complex mill-5000.
 
The Central Asia–China gas pipeline (known also as the Turkmenistan–China gas pipeline) is a natural gas pipeline from Central Asia to Xinjiang in the People's Republic of China. The whole pipeline is about 1,833 kilometers long, with 188 kilometers in Turkmenistan and 530 kilometers in Uzbekistan. The pipeline is expected to cost $7.3 billion.
