OMK completes coated pipe deliveries for Arctic Circle-Purpe oil pipeline

Russia-based pipe producing company United Metallurgical Company (OMK) announced that it has completed the delivery of special coated pipes for the first, second, and third sections of the 488 km long second stage of the main Arctic Circle-Purpe oil pipeline. OMK is the only Russian pipe manufacturer for this pipeline. Construction of the Arctic Circle-Purpe pipeline is expected to be completed in 2016. After completion, the pipeline will link the fields of the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Region to the oil refineries in Russia and world markets in the direction of East Siberia and the Pacific Ocean (ESPO) with its total length of 900 km.

OMK has delivered a total of 99,000 mt of pipes in the last two years. The pipes, which have a 426 mm diameter with 12 mm and 10 mm thick walls, and a 325 mm diameter with 9 mm thick walls, were produced at Vyksa Steel Works from 09G2S grade cold-resistant steel with a double insulation coating.
