The annual inflation rate of the 34 Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) member countries decreased to 2.4 percent in December last year, compared to 2.7 percent in November, according to the latest figures.
Excluding food and energy, annual inflation was down by 2.2 percent in December, compared to 2.3 percent the month before.
Compared with November, annual inflation in December decreased to 1.7 percent in Germany from 2.3 percent and increased to two percent in Canada from 1.7 percent. In December as compared with November, annual inflation moved down to 0.3 percent in Japan from 0.8 percent, to 1.9 percent in the US from 2.2 percent, to 1.6 percent from 1.9 percent in France, to 1.2 percent from 1.6 percent in Italy and to two percent from 2.2 percent in the UK.
