October steel service center shipments increased over 2016 levels in both the US and Canada, according to a report today from the Metals Service Center Institute (MSCI), adding that inventory positions improved across the board as well.
US service center steel shipments in October 2017 increased 10.7 percent from October 2016. Steel product inventories increased 5.6 percent from October a year ago.
Meanwhile, Canadian service center shipments of steel products in October 2017 increased by 9.8 percent from October 2016. Steel product inventories increased 8.3 percent from October a year ago.
