Houston, Texas, US-based Oceaneering International Inc., a global oilfield provider of engineered services and products, primarily to the offshore oil and gas industry, with a focus on deepwater applications, has announced that it has secured a contract with BHP Billiton Petroleum Pty Ltd, a subsidiary of Australian miner BHP Billiton, to supply umbilicals and distribution equipment for development of the Macedon gas field off Western Australia

Oceaneering's scope of supply is for an integrated umbilical system consisting of approximately 100 km of steel tube umbilicals and associated distribution equipment, including termination assemblies and flying leads. The umbilicals are scheduled to be manufactured at Oceaneering's plant in Rosyth, Scotland. The distribution hardware is planned to be made at Oceaneering's facilities in Houston, Texas and Rosyth.  Product manufacturing is expected to commence in the second quarter of 2011.

BHP's Western Australia Macedon gas development consists of four wells at water depth of approximately 180 meters.
