Nucor to receive hot strip mill gauges from IMS Systems

IMS Measuring Systems GmbH, one of the world's leading manufacturers of x-ray, isotope and optical measuring systems in the metals and plastics industries, mostly active in the North American market since 1983 announced that it will supply two new hot strip mill multi-channel profile thickness gauges and optical flatness gauges for Nucor Steel. The gauges will be used at the exit of Nucor's Crawfordsville and Decatur hot strip mills, allowing an improved measurement of strip thickness, cross profile, wedge, crown, etc. IMS gauging systems, a subsidiary company of IMS Measuring Systems GmbH, Germany, find their applications mainly in the steel and aluminium industries, in the flat and tubular products sectors. It provides high precision, real-time measurements with their gauging systems.
