German plantmaker SMS Group has announced that US-based steel producer Nucor Corporation has produced the widest and thickest slab to date from the new continuous caster supplied by SMS at Brandenburg, Kentucky, US.
The caster has an annual production capacity of 1.45 million mt of slabs with 203-305 mm thickness, 1,524-3,150 mm width and 2,642-15,240 mm length.
