NTMK operates almost at full capacity in March

Nizhny Tagil Iron and Steel Works (NTMK), a subsidiary of the Russian steel producer Evraz Group, increased its working capacities in March this year to 90-100 percent, the governor of Russia's Sverdlovsk region Eduard Rossel has stated.

"In January NTMK was working at 58 percent of its capacity, in February at 65 percent, while in March it was already using 90-100 percent of its capacity. In April the same situation is foreseen," stated Mr. Rossel.

As SteelOrbis previously reported, during January-February 2009 NTMK registered a 40.1 percent decrease year on year in its shipments to 555,400 mt, including 198,700 mt to the domestic market - down 57.7 percent, and 356,700 mt for export - down 21.9 percent.
