According to media reports, a warehouse at Northwest Pipe’s Saginaw mill in Texas, near Fort Worth, was destroyed by fire. No injuries were reported but the blaze was categorized as “defensive fire” which meant it was too dangerous for responders to enter.

Vancouver-based Northwest Pipe has facilities throughout the US. In a March 2019 interview, CEO Scott Montross outlined a number of ongoing industry projects that are expected to drive pipe demand in 2019. Many of those projects are in Texas such as the Bois D’arc Reservoice and the large Surface Water Supply Project near Houston. The exact effect on inventories or production was not available at time of publication.
