Novosibirsk Metallurgical Works named after Kuzmin (NMZK), a subsidiary of the Russian steel producer ESTAR Holding (ESTAR) currently under the control of Russia's largest metal trader Metallservis Group (Metallservis), has announced that on March 1, 2010, it finished the installation of its electric welding pipe mill 10-14.
Currently, NMZK is carrying out pre-commissioning preparations at the pipe mill, which is to start production in the current month.
NMZK's electric welding pipe mill 10-14 is focused on the production of round pipes of 16 mm to 51 mm diameter under Russian standard GOST-10704, as well as on the production of shaped pipes under standards GOST-8639 and GOST-8645, of sizes from 15 x 15 mm to 40 х 25 mm with wall thickness from 1.2 mm to 2.0 mm. The pipes will be produced from hot rolled and cold rolled strips.
As SteelOrbis previously reported, the disassembling of the mill for reconstruction was started in 2008. The total investment in this project amounted to about Ruble 20 million (about $668,046).
