India's state-owned miner National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) has announced that in the first two months of the financial year 2018-19 (started April 1) it produced 4.53 million mt of iron ore, registering a decrease of 19.5 percent year on year. The company's iron ore sales in the given period amounted to 4.53 million mt, falling by 31.2 percent year on year.
During the first two months, NMDC's iron ore output from its Karnataka mines amounted to 1.44 million mt, down 27 percent, while the iron ore output from its Chhattisgarh mines declined by 15.5 percent to 3.09 million mt, both year on year.
