NMDC’s iron ore output up 3.2 percent in April-January 2019-20

Indian state-owned iron ore miner National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) has announced that in January this year it produced 3.31 million mt of iron ore, remaining stable on year-on-year basis. The company's iron ore sales in the given month amounted to 2.96 million mt, down 3.6 percent from 3.07 million mt in the same month of the previous year.

In the April-January period of the financial year 2019-20 (started April 1, 2019), NMDC’s iron ore production totaled 25.89 million mt, increasing by 3.2 percent year on year, while its iron ore sales totaled 26 million mt, rising by three percent as compared to the same period of the previous year.

In the given period, NMDC's iron ore sales from its Karnataka mines amounted to 6.3 million mt, while the iron ore sales from its Chhattisgarh mines increased to 19.7 million mt, both year on year.
