India's state-owned miner National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) has announced that in the first 11 months of the financial year 2017-18 (started April 1, 2017) it produced 31.32 million mt of iron ore, registering an increase of 3.2 percent year on year. The company's iron ore sales in the given period amounted to 31.92 million mt, down 1.26 percent year on year.
During the first 11 months, NMDC's iron ore output from its Karnataka mines amounted to 11.03 million mt, up one percent, while the iron ore output from its Chhattisgarh mines increased by 4.5 percent to 20.29 million mt, both year on year.
