NMDC’s iron ore output up 2.84 percent in April-January

India's state-owned miner National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) has announced that in the first 10 months of the financial year 2017-18 (started April 1, 2017) it produced 27.87 million mt of iron ore, registering an increase of 2.84 percent year on year. The company's iron ore sales in the given period amounted to 28.89 million mt, down 1.96 percent year on year.

During the first 10 months, NMDC's iron ore output from its Karnataka mines amounted to 10.03 million mt, up 1.6 percent, while the iron ore output from its Chhattisgarh mines increased by 3.5 percent to 17.84 million mt, both year on year.
