NMDC’s iron ore output up 12.3 percent in April-September

India's state-owned miner National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) has announced that in the first six months of the financial year 2017-18 (started April 1) it produced 15.65 million mt of iron ore, registering an increase of 12.3 percent year on year. The company's iron ore sales in the given period amounted to 17.61 million mt, rising by 11.2 percent year on year.

During the first six months, NMDC's iron ore output from its Karnataka mines amounted to 5.91 million mt, up 5.5 percent, while the iron ore output from its Chhattisgarh mines increased by 16.9 percent to 9.74 million mt, both year on year.
