NMDC’s iron ore output up 11.3 percent in April-October

India's state-owned miner National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) has announced that in the first seven months of the financial year 2016-17 (started April 1) it produced 16.80 million mt of iron ore, registering an increase of 11.3 percent year on year. The company's iron ore sales in the given period amounted to 18.97 million mt, rising by 20.6 percent year on year.
 
During the first seven months, NMDC's iron ore output from its Karnataka mines amounted to 6.67 million mt, up 2.6 percent, while the iron ore output from its Chhattisgarh mines increased by 17.9 percent to 10.13 million mt, both year on year.
