NMDC’s iron ore output increases in April-February

India's state-owned miner National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) has announced that in the first eleven months of the financial year 2015-16 (started April 1) it produced 27.82 million mt of iron ore, registering an increase of 5.3 percent year on year. The company's iron ore sales in the given period amounted to 27.25 million mt, up 0.44 percent year on year.
 
During the first eleven months, NMDC's iron ore output from its Karnataka mines amounted to 9.11 million mt, up 8.19 percent, while the iron ore output from its Chhattisgarh mines increased by four percent to 18.72 million mt, both year on year.
