NMDC’s iron ore output down 9.2 percent in January-February

India's state-owned miner National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) has announced that in February this year it produced 3.34 million mt of iron ore, registering a decrease of 3.1 percent year on year. The company's iron ore sales in the given period amounted to 3.55 million mt, rising by 17.1 percent year on year.

In the January-February period of the year, NMDC produced 28.43 million mt of iron ore, decreasing by 9.2 percent compared to 2018. Its iron ore sales in the same period amounted to 28.8 million mt, declining by 9.7 percent year on year.

In the January-February period, NMDC's iron ore output from its Karnataka mines amounted to 8.62 million mt, down 21.8 percent, while the iron ore output from its Chhattisgarh mines decreased by 2.4 percent to 19.8 million mt, both year on year.
