NMDC’s iron ore output down 25 percent in April-August

India's state-owned miner National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) has announced that in the first five months of the financial year 2018-19 (started April 1) it produced 9.85 million mt of iron ore, registering a decrease of 25 percent year on year. The company's iron ore sales in the given period amounted to 11.04 million mt, falling by 26 percent year on year.

During the first five months, NMDC's iron ore output from its Karnataka mines amounted to 3.68 million mt, down 27 percent, while the iron ore output from its Chhattisgarh mines decreased by 24 percent to 6.17 million mt, both year on year.
