NLMK Group to develop energy- efficient transformers with EEU consumers

Russian steel producer NLMK Group has signed a memorandum with electrical equipment manufacturers from the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU). Accordingly, NLMK plans to promote the development of technology to manufacture next generation energy-efficient transformers from high-permeability electrical steel (HGO).

The memorandum has already been signed by transformer manufacturers from Russia, Belarus, and Armenia, and cooperation is open to all Eurasian market participants.

Partnership members commit to carrying out joint research and development projects, introducing new energy-efficiency standards, and promoting Eurasian next generation transformer products in the global market.
