New Zealand considers to implement AD duty on steel imports

The government of New Zealand has initiated an anti-dumping duty investigation on galvanized wire products imports from China. The investigation is initiated at the request of New Zealand Pacific Wire Mill, which is the only producer of galvanized wire in the country. The company annually produces about 200'000 mts and 90% of its total production is supplied to the domestic market. The company similarly challenged the imports of these products from South Africa last year and the case was completed with a determination of dumping. Meanwhile imports of reinforcing bars from Thailand and Malaysia into New Zealand will also be put under investigation for dumping analysis.
