New passenger car registrations in Turkey down 54.2% in Feb from Jan

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in February of the current year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey increased by 15.7 percent year on year to 60,680 units, decreasing by 50.7 percent on month-on-month basis.

New passenger car registrations in February this year totaled 34,466 units, decreasing by 54.2 percent as compared to January and up 21.6 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 56.8 percent of total new registrations. New small truck registrations in February, on the other hand, decreased by 65.9 percent month on month and were down 2.9 percent year on year, amounting to 10,073 units. Small truck registrations constituted 16.6 percent of total new registrations.
