New motor vehicle registrations in Turkey up 22.8 percent in March

According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in March this year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey increased by 35.6 percent month on month and rose by 22.8 percent year on year to 72,072 units.

New passenger car registrations in March totaled 43,300 units, increasing by 35.1 percent as compared to February and up by 32.4 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 60.1 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations in the given month.

On the other hand, new small truck registrations in March amounted to 9,677 units, rising by 31.1 percent month on month and increasing by 28.2 percent year on year. Small truck registrations constituted 13.4 percent of total new registrations in March.
