Cong Liang, secretary general of China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), stated at a press conference held on February 11 that provinces and regions in China (excluding Hubei Province which is at the center of the coronavirus outbreak) have gradually resumed working and production, especially as regards medical supplies, energy, food, transportation and logistics.
Currently, 57.8 percent coal mines in China have resumed production.
Meanwhile, China’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security has said that enterprises will resume work and production at a faster pace in the near future, which will stimulate consumption and investment accumulated from the previous period. The long-term fundamentals of the Chinese economy have not changed, which will bolster demand in the labor market, the ministry noted.
