NDRC: China to carry out inspections on steel capacity elimination

According to China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), during the period from May 22 to June 15 China will carry out inspections on capacity elimination in the steel industry in 21 provinces and municipalities, including Tianjin, Hebei Province, Shanxi Province, Inner Mongolia, Liaoning Province, Jilin Province, Heilongjiang Province, Jiangsu Province, Zhejiang Province, Anhui Province, Fujian Province, Jiangxi Province, Shandong Province, Henan Province, Hubei Province, Hunan Province, Guangdong Province, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Sichuan Province, Yunnan Province and Shaanxi Province.

The inspections will focus on whether any of the eliminated low-grade steel capacity mostly used for the construction industry and other eliminated steel capacities have resumed production, and on whether other steel capacities have been built without official approval.
