NBS: China’s crude steel output up 6.3 percent in January-July

In the January-July period of the current year, China produced 441.79 million mt of pig iron, up 1.0 percent year on year, while also producing 532.85 million mt of crude steel and 625.87 million mt of finished steel, rising by 6.3 percent and 6.6 percent year on year, respectively, as announced by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on August 14.

In July alone, China produced 67.52 million mt of pig iron, up 4.2 percent year on year, while also producing 81.24 million mt of crude steel and 95.69 million mt of finished steel, up 7.2 percent and 8.0 percent year on year, respectively.
