NBS: China’s crude steel output up 6.1 percent in January-September

In the January-September period of the current year, China produced 578.60 million mt of pig iron, up 1.2 percent year on year, while also producing 699.42 million mt of crude steel and 821.01 million mt of finished steel, rising by 6.1 percent and 7.2 percent year on year, respectively, as announced by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on October 19.

In September alone, China produced 66.38 million mt of pig iron, up 4.4 percent year on year, while also producing 80.85 million mt of crude steel and 96.75 million mt of finished steel, increasing by 7.5 percent and 9.8 percent year on year, respectively.
