NBS: China’s crude steel output up 5.5 percent in January-July

In July this year, China produced 62.07 million mt of pig iron and 96.67 million mt of finished steel, indicating respective increases of 5.1 percent and 2.7 percent year on year, while it produced 74.02 million mt of crude steel, up 10.3 percent year on year, as announced by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on August 14.

In the January-July period of the current year, China produced 424.20 million mt of pig iron, 491.55 million mt of crude steel and 648.56 million mt of finished steel, up 3.5 percent, 5.5 percent and 1.1 percent year on year, respectively.
