NBS: China’s crude steel output up 10.1 percent in January-April

In the January-April period this year, China produced 262.65 million mt of pig iron, up 9.6 percent year on year, while also producing 314.96 million mt of crude steel and 370.86 million mt of finished steel, rising by 10.1 percent and 11.1 percent year on year, respectively, as announced by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on May 15. 

In April alone, China produced 69.83 million mt of pig iron, up 10.1 percent year on year, while also producing 85.03 million mt of crude steel and 102.05 million mt of finished steel, increasing by 12.7 percent and 11.5 percent year on year, respectively.
