NBS: China’s CPI up 2.1 percent in May, PPI down 2.9 percent

In May this year, China's producer price index (PPI) decreased by 0.6 percent compared to April this year and indicated a decline of 2.9 percent year on year, according to China's National Bureau of Statistics. Meanwhile, China's average PPI for the first five months this year decreased by 2.1 percent on year-on-year basis.

In May, domestic industrial producers' purchase prices saw a decline of 3.0 percent compared with May last year and registered a decrease of 0.6 percent on month-on-month basis.

Also in May, China's consumer price index (CPI) witnessed a year-on-year increase of 2.1 percent, while it was down by 0.6 percent month on month.
