Mineração Usiminas (MUSA), the mining arm of local flats steelmaker Usiminas, has appointed a new commercial director, a media report from Estadao said.

The new commercial director, Glauco Sabatini, was previously general manager - supply chain at local slab producer Ternium Brazil, formerly known as Companhia Siderurica do Atlantico (CSA). CSA was owned by ThyssenKrupp and then sold to Ternium. Sabatini was also previously an executive advisor for Usiminas’ CEO from January 2012 to October 2014.

He also spent nine years at Ternium in multiple roles, including sales manager and chief of staff. He has a degree in industrial engineering and a specialization in business administration.

MUSA is owned by Usiminas (70 percent) and Sumitomo (30 percent). Usiminas said last year it had hired BTG Pactual to sell MUSA.
