Mullarkey named US Steel Fairfield plant manager

On Monday, US Steel said that Patrick Mullarkey has been named plant manager--Fairfield Tubular Operations, part of US Steel Tubular Products Inc., located in Birmingham, Alabama, effective February 1, 2013. Mullarkey will succeed Dennis Quirk who has retired following 36 years of service.

"Dennis has served our company well during times of critical change with his extensive and varied operations experiences in both our Tubular and Flat-Rolled organizations and has exhibited an extraordinary commitment to our safety program throughout his 36 year career. We wish him and his family all the best in his retirement," said Douglas R. Matthews, senior vice president - Tubular Operations.  He also commented on Mullarkey's advancement, stating, "Pat's broad operations experience throughout the company, particularly in the welded pipe business, coupled with his strong leadership skills makes him an excellent addition to the U.S Steel Tubular Products leadership team."
