Maharashtra Seamless Ltd (MSL), the seamless pipe producing subsidiary of the Indian steel producer Jindal Group, is planning to set up a new steel plant in India's third largest state, Maharashtra.

The new mill will be constructed at the cost of Rupees 15-20 billion ($378-504 million) and will have an annual production capacity of one million metric tons of billets upon completion.

In addition, MSL is planning to expand the production capacity at its main facility to 500,000 metric tons per annum through modification of existing equipment and installation of new capacities.

The company is also planning the relocation of its newly acquired Romania-based facility to the site of the new plant.
