Moscow opens its doors to Metal-Expo 2007

On November 13-16, the Russian capital Moscow welcomed more than 200 foreign participants from over 32 countries to the Metal-Expo 2007 industrial exhibition.

The leaders of the Russian steel industry, such as MMK, Severstal, NLMK, Estar, TMK, OMK, ChTPZ Group and others, as well as leading overseas companies such as ArcelorMittal, China's Baosteel, Europe's ThyssenKrupp and South Korea's POSCO, all participated at the exhibition where they presented their products and achievements.

The exhibition was visited by tens of thousands of executives and specialists in metallurgy, metal working, machine building, power engineering, construction and other industrial sectors.

Many Russian steelmakers received awards at Metal-Expo 2007. For instance, Mechel specialists working at the corporate stand were awarded a Professional Product and Service Presentation diploma, while Mechel's own stand was awarded the Best Exposition cup.

Meanwhile, NLMK, which presented its new business strategy called EKOSTAL, also received a prize for its stand.

In addition, MMK made a presentation concerning the technical capabilities of its plate mill 5000 which is currently under construction, attracting the interest of many potential buyers of plate.
