China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) has announced that during last week (June 17-23) the average prices of rebar, high-speed wire rod and common steel plate edged down by 0.6 percent, 0.6 percent and 0.4 percent, week on week. The MOC also stated that, due to the high temperatures and rainy weather, the demand for rebar and wire rod has slackened and this situation will likely continue in the future. Accordingly, the MOC foresees that finished steel prices in the Chinese domestic market will likely edge down in the coming period.
