China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOC) has announced that during last week (February 18-24) the average steel price in China increased by 0.2 percent compared to the previous week.
In particular, in the given week prices of 12 mm diameter rebar, 1 mm thick galvanized steel sheet and 80 mm x 43 mm x 5 mm channel steel increased by 0.6 percent, 0.5 percent and 0.4 percent respectively, all week on week.
In the week ending February 24, average prices of minerals in China witnessed an increase of 2.3 percent week on week. Furthermore, the average prices of iron ore and zinc ore increased by 2.7 percent and 1.2 percent respectively, while the price of copper ore was down 1.2 percent, all compared to the previous week.
Meanwhile, in the given week, average prices of energy in China were up 0.2 percent and the price of crude oil was up 0.5 percent week on week, while the prices of raw coal and coke remained unchanged compared to the previous week.
