China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) has announced that during last week (August 27-September 2) the overall average finished steel price in China edged down by 0.1 percent week on week.
In the given week, average prices of rebar and high-speed wire rod decreased by 0.5 percent and 0.3 percent, while prices of hot rolled steel strip and seamless steel pipe in China respectively increased by 0.4 percent and 0.4 percent week on week.
In the week in question, the average price of coal in China declined by 0.5 percent week on week. In particular, the prices of coking coal, thermal coal and anthracite coal moved down by 0.8 percent, 0.5 percent and 0.3 percent, respectively, week on week.
In the same week, the average price of non-ferrous metals in China edged up by 1.0 percent week on week. The average price of nickel (Ni > = 99.2%) decreased by 0.8 percent compared to the previous week.
