MMK to commission HDG line No. 2 in July

The Russian steelmaker Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) has announced its plans to commission production at its new HDG line No. 2 in July of the current year. The new line will have an annual production capacity of 450,000 metric tons.

The contract for the construction of the second HDG line was awarded to the Italian plantmaker Danieli in October 2006. The installation of the equipment is planned to commence in February of 2008.
