MMK Group’s Q1 crude steel output up 3.6 percent over Q4

In the first quarter of the current year, the crude steel production of Russian steelmaker MMK Group totaled 3.075 million mt, up 3.6 percent compared to the previous quarter, as announced by the steel producer.

MMK Group's finished steel product output in the first quarter totalled 2.844 million mt, up three percent quarter on quarter.

MMK Group's high value-added (HVA) steel product output in the first quarter this year increased by 11.7 percent quarter on quarter, reaching 1.355 million mt. The share of HVA production in total output in the given quarter amounted to 48 percent.

During the first quarter, MMK's cast iron production decreased by 3.5 percent to 2.426 million mt, its long steel product output increased by 12.6 percent to 455,000 mt, and its flat hot rolled product output decreased by 2.9 percent to 1.231 million mt - all on quarter-on-quarter basis.

Coking coal concentrate output in the first three months of this year amounted to 669,000 mt, down 16.7 percent quarter on quarter.
