Mittal Steel fulfills its obligations on Krivorizhstal

Ukraine's Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has stated that Mittal Steel has fulfilled its obligations under the privatization agreement for the country's largest steelmaker Krivorizhstal, which has since been renamed as ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih.

Speaking at a government meeting, Ms Tymoshenko emphasized that ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih has significantly increased its production capacities, while the current owners of the mill have invested about $800 million in the mill's development, and also have fulfilled their obligations on increasing salaries, and are undertaking environment protection measures in the region.
