Mittal restructures European operations

Mittal Steel Company today disclosed aspirations to form a unified European business structure. Accordingly, the company plans to merge the Central and Eastern European Operations with the Western European Operations to form a single European business structure. The merger will help the company develop business plans aimed at improving Mittal Steel's competitive position in Europe. Mittal Steel Europe will be the continent's second largest steel producer.
