AHMSA’s subsidiary Minera del Norte (Minosa) is reportedly recovering 5 miles of an iron ore pipe that is used by AHMSA to transport the commodity, according to several media reports.

Technicians from Minosa’s Hercules unit recovered 75 percent of a 5-mile section of the pipe. Investments to recover the 5-mile section of the pipe reach about MXN 30 million ($1.4 million).

Repair works include the replacement of three sections at the 14-inch diameter large pipe, located along the cities of Cuatro Cienegas and Monclova.

The pipe transports iron ore from Minosa’s units La Perla and Hercules, both located in the cities of Chihuahua, to AHMSA’s mills in Monclova. The pipe has a 237-mile extension.
