Minmetals posts 16.5 percent growth in gross profit for 2018

China Minmetals Corporation (Minmetals), the largest metal mining enterprise group in China, has stated at its annual meeting that it registered an operating revenue of RMB 503.2 billion in 2018, while realizing a year-on-year growth of 16.5 percent in its gross profit for the year, thereby achieving its best operating performance ever.

Meanwhile, Guo Wenqing, general manager of Minmetals, said that he expects global mining demand to remain at high levels in 2019. He also stated that China’s steel industry has entered a critical period of deep adjustment, adding that industry concentration will be further increased in 2019.
