Mining investments in Peru rise 24.8 percent in January-October

Mining investments in Peru reached $4.6 billion in the accumulated period of January to October, the nation’s mines and energy ministry (Minem) said this week. Investments in the 10-month period rose 24.8 percent, year-on-year.

Government data indicated mining investments in Peru in October alone totaled $623 million, 35.5 percent up, year-on-year, and 21.2 percent up, month-on-month.

The Peruvian ministry of mines and energy said most investments in the January-October period went to the beneficiation plant and development and preparation areas.
