Mining investments in Peru reach $6.1 billion in 2019

Mining investments in Peru in the full year of 2019 reached $6.1 billion, according to a report from the local ministry of mines and energy (Minem).

Minem said mining investments in Peru have been growing for three consecutive years, on a year-on-year basis. Investments in the local mining sector in 2019 rose 24.5 percent, year-on-year, when compared to the $4.9 billion invested in 2018.

For the month of December, Minem said investments in mining in Peru totaled $832 million, 11.6 percent up, year-on-year.
