Mexico’s Minera Autlan dismisses 60 workers

Mexican ferroalloys and manganese producer Minera Autlan reportedly dismissed 60 workers, a media report from El Sol de Tulancingo said.

The media report said local communities have been blocking access to a company’s plant in Hidalgo state for 44 days. Another 64 employees reportedly had their wages cut by half, and an additional 44 third party workers may also be dismissed, the report said.

The Hidalgo plant, also known as the Naopa plant, is one of the company’s key manganese sites.
