In September this year, production in the Mexican light vehicle industry rose 12.5 percent compared to the same month of 2011 and was up 1.85 percent on month-on-month basis, amounting to 253,444 units, according to the Mexican Association of the Automobile Industry (AMIA).
Meanwhile, according to the data released by the Mexican Association of Car Distributors (AMDA), Mexican car and light commercial vehicle sales totaled 79,960 units in September this year, rising 8.1 percent year on year, while the country's exports of cars and light commercial vehicles in September remained almost stable year on year at 193,350 units.
In the first nine months of this year, Mexican car and light commercial vehicle production amounted to 2,156,988 units, increasing 13.2 percent compared to the same period of last year, while its car and light commercial vehicle exports in the period in question increased 11.6 percent year on year, amounting to 1,764,400 units.
