Mexico’s iron pellet output in March rises month-on-month, falls sharply year-on-year

According to data released by the Mexico’s statistics agency, Inegi, the country’s iron pellet output during the month of March was recorded at 538,355 mt.  March 2016 data reflects a year-on-year output decline of 18.8 percent.

Inegi further reported that Mexican iron pellet output rose 2.4 percent in March from levels seen in February, when output was recorded at 525,546 mt, adding that the country’s mining and metals production index declined 2.5 percent in March, month­-on­-month, and 7.9 percent, year­-on­-year.

Mexico’s iron pellet production in the cumulative period of January 2016 to March 2016 has declined 17.8 percent, year­-on­-year, the agency said.
