Mexico’s iron pellet output declines in August

Mexico’s iron pellet production declined 4.8 percent in August, year-on-year, according to the latest figures released by the country’s statistics agency, Inegi.

Mexico’s iron pellet output declined to 640,446 mt in August, from 672,477 mt in the year prior. As for the cumulative period of January to August, iron pellet production declined 1.2 percent, year-on-year.

Inegi said seasonally adjusted data for the month of August indicate that the nation’s mining and metals production index declined 0.6 percent, month-on-month, but increased 4.2 percent in August in the year-on-year analysis.
