Mexico’s industrial production declines in December

Mexican industrial output in December dropped 2.5 percent, year-on-year, according to a report from local statistics agency Inegi. On a month-on-month analysis, industrial production decline 0.4 percent.

Inegi said industrial output in the local mining sector in December fell 8.2 percent, year-on-year, and decreased 0.8 percent month-on-month.

Mexican industrial production in the local civil construction segment in December decreased 3.9 percent, year-on-year, but increased 0.6 percent month-on-month.

Industrial production for the manufacturing industry segment slightly rose 0.5 percent in December, year-on-year, while decreasing 0.7 percent month-on-month.
